Clee Fields Official Opening

Clee Fields was officially opened by The Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of North East Lincolnshire, Councillor Steve Beasant, on Saturday 31st August 2024. 

We were joined by Melanie Onn, MP for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes, Mayoress Sandie Hullett, The Lincolnshire FA, Councillor's, North East Lincolnshire Council, partner clubs, and members of the community for the opening of this state-of-the-art facility. 

The opening included exhibition games, competitions on the pitch for the community to get involved in, face painters and a BBQ.

Melanie Onn, MP for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes said, “I’ve looked forward to the opening of the new YMCA Clee Fields facility that we’ve got here in Heneage Ward for everybody to come and use. 

Schools can hire these facilities out; there’s state-of-the art changing areas, and there’s a really nice café. They’re offering football parties and coaching and all sorts of different things for the local area, so it’s a real bonus to have top grade facilities like this in the heart of the town.

It’s amazing to see things starting to come to fruition, and I do have to acknowledge the hard work that’s gone on to bring projects like this to Grimsby and to Cleethorpes, and congratulate everybody who’s been involved."
