Supported Housing

At YMCA Humber, we offer a safe, supportive home for 106 individuals aged 16 and over who have experienced homelessness, with no upper age limit. We’re committed to helping our residents gain vital skills that will set them up for long-term success, including tenancy management, improving mental and physical health, managing finances, building relationships with others, overcoming substance misuse, and making the most of their time. In return, we provide quality accommodation and the guidance of a dedicated housing officer, all with the goal of helping them transition into independent living.

21 Freeman Street

21 Freeman Street is our purpose-built, 74-bed supported housing facility located in the heart of Grimsby. Here, we provide round-the-clock support for those who need it most. Each resident is paired with a dedicated support coach who works with them to develop the skills they need to manage their own tenancy. Our in-house team of qualified counsellors is also available to provide therapeutic interventions and mental health support, as well as group sessions focused on wellbeing and personal growth.

1 Orwell Street

For individuals who don’t require 24/7 assistance but still need help managing their accommodation, 1 Orwell Street offers supported housing designed for greater independence. It’s a perfect option for those who are ready to take the next step but benefit from a bit of extra support along the way.

Community Housing

YMCA Humber currently manages three properties around North East Lincolnshire, two of the properties are for families and the other is for single parents and their baby.
